NJ’s largest solar power installation

With the flip of a switch on Thursday, September 23, 2010, the largest solar panel array in New Jersey will come to life on the campus of Janssen, Division of Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc..This will be the largest solar installation of any site among the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies around the world.

    @Flaherty369 Ok All, this is the official word from the site manager: The system size is 4.1MW which equates to 4100kW. Each panel is over 300W and we have about 13,500 panels. Larger systems in NJ are being planned, but we are told we are the largest operating to date.

    @Evol031 I believe each panel collects 300KW. The total amount of power generated is over 4 megawatts.

    that is far from NJ’s largest install. 300kw is below the average sized commercial install in NJ.

    Putting the panels on the ground blocks out sunlight that touches the earth. There’s
    Plenty of wasted space on rooftops. Put them on rooftops first.
