SOLAR COOKING 46″ Parabolic Mirror Solar Stove Solar Oven GreenPowerScience

www.greenpowerscience.com This solar stove took about 10 minutes to throw together and we actually use this on almost every sunny day. It can cook frozen chicken, or turkey burger meat in under 20 minutes. This is a much safer method of cooking than the Fresnel Lens.

@MrJimbobwae really? setting a reflector under a chain link gate is overcomplicated. LOL

  • EMFinduction says:

Actually… if you are gonna be exposing yourself to this over and over again like this guy, you should probably be wearing oxy-acetylene welding goggles and covering any skin that will be exposed. But hey… if the melanoma doesn’t bother you, it don’t bother me….

  • IceBox3 says:

@aat9527 lol, already made me laugh, before i even saw the video :D

  • XRayCam says:

Many people don’t realize this…but you NEED sunglasses to use these. The UV rays are terrible…can eventually blind you. And the grease falling onto that parabolic….will eventually wear on the reflective coating.

did you know you can vacuum-form 2mm mirror-finish high density polystyrene? Not round very tight radiuses but it works fine for mirrors. I used a vacuum forming machine with ceramic heaters. I think you can get it in 8ft by 4ft sheets.

    Who puked into that dish?

  • 857frank says:

Sunlight should be taxed and devices like this subject to health and safety regulations, a licence issued and insurance taken out. After that you can have as much fun as you like.

  • Jhadypreggie says:

this is a good idea, saves money for electricity.

  • jsmythib says:

@eloid777 its funny all the money we sink into high tech solar, when a silly metal dish pointed at the nuke in the sky is so powerful….Id love to build a mirror array..but the pesky earths rotation makes it a little difficult- Fractional Distillation? CO2 @ 6000f ? What gases? seems like a good way to store captured energy…a stable liquid.

  • eloid777 says:

you need to use this dish to heat ans melt plastic to make pyrolysis gassification then
Fractional Distillation to make diesel and gasoline.

  • MrJimbobwae says:

or you could save yourself from the blinding unrealistic cooking method and just use a George Foreman Grill. talk about turning a simple task to an overcomplicated time consuming process

  • anthroparion says:

Your voice sounds funny because of the echo from the mirror :)

It’s not the fat that makes you fat! It’s sugar and carbs.

  • kdc43 says:

@magicyte Skeptic Carl Sagan would call your replies balony…..you lack logic, use methane from a digester, its homemade natural gas ,more clean burning than any wood/stove.

  • c33r0k33 says:

Seeing how my family in California just lost power last night and may be out for several days techniques like this are not remotely a joke. Dan, I would have at least added a glass lid on top of the pan to reduce splatters. Thanks for introducing us to concepts that could be made usable by us.

  • wrathallll says:

HOLY SHIT LOOK AT THE COLOUR OF THE SCUMMY SHIT IN THAT PAN!
    .
    that is MING!

    Turkey burger……BLURGH!!

That is the most disgusting looking burger I’ve ever seen! No wonder so many americans are fat!

  • xapplimatic says:

I would add a fresnel lens to the parabolic for twice the cooking speed!!!

  • Beautifulcutie09 says:

Could you roast marshmallows over it?

  • 1pacnw says:

    Great job, as usual, Dan.
Sorry I don’t have time to read all of the comments to see if this has been previously suggested:
I think a minor addition of fine screen under the pan to act as a “spatter screen/catcher” would help tremendously with the eventual cleanup the mirror will need. Screen door screen available in brass or stainless at most hardware stores should work fairly well. The finer, the better. It could be dishwasher cleaned.
I applaud your tenacity, ingenuity and vision.
