Maybe for the AUTHOR this is a debt killer, but not for the buyer. This plan is the same as many you can find free on the internet. The instructions are clear and the graphics are good, but for $5, you can save your money and get a free version. This offering is not much more than a short magazine article. I thought it would be more, and was not happy with the purchase.

The debate about whether or not humans have any significant effect on global warming will probably wage on ad infinitum. That doesn’t mean that switching to green energy isn’t a good thing. Anything that reduces the amount fossil fuels we use will not only benefit the Earth, but us, too. The alternative energy sources mentioned in How to Build a Solar Panel Power System for Less Than $150 are – as far as I can tell – non-invasive. Using solar panels is non-invasive for sure. This book was written by a former engineer. Still, the instructions are straightforward enough that even I – a WOMAN! – could understand and follow them. The photographs and illustrations he provided helped, too. I only have one concern regarding his list of things that you would need to build the power system. He didn’t say how much they cost. Jumper cables are something that every car owner “should” have on hand, married or not; however, if you’re using your jumper cables to power your laptop or some other electronic device, what will you use in your car? Besides, can’t you own a house without owning a car as well? Someone really touchy might be offended by his comment about getting jumper cables from his wife’s car for free, because some readers will be other women or single or both.

I don’t know how well a homemade solar panel power system would work in Seattle, but I would recommend this book for someone who lives in Phoenix or Los Angeles.
